Re: sprint series
No.
Nice and simple
But it depends on what category you enter. Lauren will be able to tell you more info as she's entered in her GT86. I wanted to enter this year, but my car isn't ready

Unfortunately not that simple.
MR2 Roadster requires a rear hoop (a proper structural one, not a style bar) at a minimum because it's a convertible.

Re: sprint series
Yep just found out from Adrian..
Can't find rollover hoops.. Think It would have to be a cage

There's stuff available:

Might be just as cheap to put a proper cage in by the time you've had one shipped from the states though unless you are able to get one fabricated to a similar design

Re: sprint series
Ahh cool thanks.. Considering.options at the mo
May swap to hard top car as cost of a hard top and cage for the mk3 is quite high.. I want a Rollcage just don't wanna fork out for one yet..
So hard top other toyota with roll cage at later date is more cost effective with what I could sell the mk3 for...

Re: sprint series
This is the main reason why I swapped my T-Bar for a tin-top. Sadly I still need a cage due to the mods on the car, so no TSS for me this year!

May 2015
Still in the garage...
..the only thing I can promise for sure is slow progress.
May 2015
just have this niggling thought that if I rip out the wiring, then the car will never get out of the garage again.

Re: sprint series
i'm interested in the TSS but won't be competing in the tubby as i don't want to put a cage in it and i also know it just wouldn't be competitive in the higher classes, especially with me at the wheel.
i was very tempted to just pick up something like this for competing in a lower class and seeing how fast I could make it go within the regs.

Re: sprint series
I'm debating internally whether to cage the tubby. I'd hope it would be competitive (with 550HP), but it's a big commitment to strip the car to a shell to get a proper cage welded in.
That old Carina would look great on track

Re: sprint series
Tried to get an insurance quote on a Paseo today. £800+ for a car worth about £500.
No thanks. Aaaargh. Was thinking about an NA MA70 Supra but they're so biiiig and heavy.
Hmmmmmmm. If I get a second car to run in this then I've decided to not get another 2 as I'd like to have something with a bit more room in it.

Re: sprint series
I'd be kinda tempted to get a naily old Yaris. It'll be dog slow, but still a lot of fun to throw around I imagine. Maybe next year once I've got the space...

Yes do it! I actually found a reasonable quote on that Carina I posted in the other thread.
Must resist. We're a four-car household with two on the road already.

Re: sprint series
A quick browse of eBay shows a selection of Yaris 1.0s for less than a bag of sand... and there's classes for sub-1000cc cars! I can't think of a cheaper way into motorsport
