Well I'm back up and running again.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
Head gasket must have been leaking between cylinders.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
Seems good now but it'll be a good few miles yet before I'll be confident it's fixed.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
Why it didn't work first time I'm not sure.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
Could have been the old bolts
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
- they didn't tighten smoothly
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
(twisting and slip stick).
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
The 22ftlbs
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
+90+90 I strongly suspect is enough to get to the bolts yield point.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
Second new gasket ended up as BGA
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
(ordered payen but sent instead), mixed reviews so I guess time will tell.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
Interestingly BGA is 1.4 mm vs 1.2 standard.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
Instruction required 49ft/lbs in 3 passes
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
+ retorque after running up to temp for 4age but 22+90+90 for supercharger.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
This time I went with the old 49 ft/lbs.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
However, out of interest I did torque to 22 and mark the bolts.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
Even after re-torque non of the bolts were more than
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
+90+45.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
The two specs are in no way equivalent.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
I did also wonder if perhaps the skimmed head had a too good, almost mirror finish, so gave it a light rub with some fine wet and dry also to lessen marks in head from ist Toyota gasket.
