Thinking of downloading it for the PC but s it something that could take to long to achieve anything.

Played it a few years back whilst it was still in Alpha/Beta release, even went to Minecon 2012 in Paris....
Highly addictive game once you grasp the learning curve. Things get better as you discover new blocks / tools to play with. It's one of those games I can pick up and drop every few months. Best played with friends online and a creative mind.
