I'm back!

Post by GHOST »

Just enjoyed my first day with my 5th MR2. Went over to MK1 Eunos Roadsters for a few years but gave in to this beautiful '98 REV5 Sonic Shadow TBar. Shes almost mint with no rust, only 74k on the clock, subtle mods with Momo alloys, twin light conversion and mongoose exhaust.

Glad to be back. Thanks to Nathan for keeping this 2 in lovely condition.

Car looks great mate! The only thing I'd change (personal preference and all that) would be to change the tinted rear lights for stock.

Enjoy the car. :)

Was thinking the same thing mate. Might actually take off the black inside the quad lights and reflectors just so its legal. Not too sure how legal the window tints are either as yet.

Otherwise, I'm quite liking the wheels etc. Quite a classy looking 2. Mongoose exhaust sounds lovely burbling away too.

The drivers and passenger door are tinted too but not as much as the 3 rears. How can you tell if its 'not quite' legal?

Need a light meter to be 100% sure.

Law on tints:

The law requires that the windows on the vehicle allow at least:

75 per cent of light through the front windscreen
70 per cent of light through the front side windows

Cheers Red.

Short of flagging down an officer and asking him about the validity of my potentially-chaved tints is there anywhere that will shine a magic light through and tell you?

Halfrauds maybe?

Not sure mate, worth a google search? I've only seen the ones cops use. :-k

I have a light meter for tinted windows.

Currently on loan to a member of my road law forum. Welcome to use when it is returned to me.

Cheers Peter. If you were just down the road I'd take you up on that. Guess I'll find out one way or another.
