Rev 5?

Post by rowey200 »

Peeps, just a quick one - I am assuming that a 'V' registered mk2 (registered 13.9.99) is a Rev 5 car?

Can someone please confirm :thumleft:

"Combat spoiler" LOL, what's that about?

V plate should be rev5 yes. Red marks round edge of dials too.

Red leather stitch on gear gaiter (widely copied though) and on steering wheel.

Gear knob has red stitching as standard on rev5, but the gear gaiter was black stitching.. if you have black leather with red stitching its an aftermarket gaiter

Fugly ironing board spoiler IMO. It does combat any real flow with the cars lines however #-o

Should also have a drivers airbag and 5 spoke wheels similar to the roadster.

They also came in some funky colours such as Cosmos Blue that weren't used on previous revisions.

Could be a scabby old REV 1 masquerading as a REV 5..
If you can't see the angle, you're in trouble.

Another identifier is the speed flaps in front of the front wheels. They're really hard to get hold of (some folk on here have managed mind you), so generally I'd say only real rev 5s have them :thumleft:

Don't they cost silly money?

I didn't know they were easy to get hold of. Seem to sell very well when they come up second hand.

I think they're around £20 the pair, or £20 each, can't remember.

So yes, silly money for a piece of rubbery plastic. But they have been on a long cruise from Japan :D
