Lauren, those items really are superfluous to requirements!

Apart from one.....

Can you supply me a 1/4 of blow?

Jo / Lauren,

Let me tell you what my checklist looks like now:

'stuff to take camping'

1) Tent
2) Crate of beer
3) Good drugs (i.e Paracetamol)
4) Super Solar Portable shower (I kid you not!)
5) 500w 12v DC to 240v AC Invertor (£70  )
6) 25 litre water carrier
7) Double gi-normous sleeping bag
8 ) Camp Chair
9) Two camp matresses
10) A cool bag
11) 10 cool bag ice packs
12) A portable cooker
13) Three spare gas canisters
14) A kettle
15) A handheld GPS (just in case I get lost!)
14) A distress flare! (ditto)

Well I've just started packing up and realised I have forgotten one key thing:

A fecking roof rack!

And I've just worked out how much all this stuff cost  It would have been cheaper for me to stay in the bridal suite at the Knutsford Hilton! :D

Tom Stuff to take camping

Its soft, strong and very long! and if like last year, there won't be any left in the traps!

Hello All

Just like to say, thanks to all who came along, 9 mk1's on Saturday and 18 Sunday (we packed them in :P ).
The weather was scorching, everybody seemed to have turned pinkie red on sunday afternoon
First time I met Tom, hopefully not the last!
Just a couple of pics to go on with, please forgive the first, I'm not to hot on photoshop.

John, it was great to meet you too! :D

And well done to you and Simon Taylor for setting up the stand on the Friday, I think you both did a great job. I would have turned up on the Friday and helped, but I had a genuine reason why I could'nt...

Will post some pictures tomorrow, but need some shut eye, I'm simply not built for camping!

Another excellent weekend with the Mk1 and DC clubs.

Had a great run over from Derby to Tatton (over the Cat and Fiddle – what a top road that is! :D )

I was hoping to take it nice and gently so I could take in the scenery. But unfortunately I had this mad woman in a brightly coloured Mk1 (can’t remember her name  ) virtually pushing me to go faster  , a bit like this:

ImageImage Top fun! :D

On arrival the stand looked great. The grass was cut, gazebo was up and we even had some beautiful flowers adorning our stand! (John and Simon =D>) Weather was great and a good few cars turned up. But spent so much time chatting hardly saw one other single stand!

In the evening we had some fun on our stand and then we were invited over to join the Driver’s Club party. They made us very welcome and it was a great night Image! (Even if my head was a bit sore the following morning)

Rain was forecast for Sunday, but not a bit of it, I have a very red face to prove it. A load of cars turned up, the only problem was fitting them all in. Here’s some pics:

Just to say a big thanks to all the Mk1 people that came over to the stand on Sat eve and during the weekend, was great to meet you all.

I hope this kind of inter club get togethers will continue and be more widespread at all of next years events.

Thanks again.

Gary,

I have already written to Allan to thank you for your hospitality! :D

I agree totally, I just hope that at future events we can organise to have adjacent stands.

This really is bringing the whole MR2 family together, long may it continue! :D

G'day all

Fantastic turnout on Sunday, Simon and John, you did a great job, just sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Looking forward to our next run out, Lakes or N.Wales. I know there is an IMOC organised run to the lakes on the 18th but once again I am working that weekend so will organise one soon. Discuss it at the meet on the 11th. (12:00 at the Wiggin Tree, Parbold)

Will also be starting to get February's run to the Isle of Man sorted soon, anyone interested should contact me so that i have a rough idea of what size Hotel to book.

Once again, great job and a special thankyou to Simon for bringing all that gear and having that sign made up.
