Thomas and his Toyota MR2 MK2 GTI 91/92 (MR.2).

Post by ghostrider88 »

Hello

I have been on this site fore some time now and finely decided to join the community.

I bought my black (202) mr2 in 2006 from a lady that imported the car from Switzerland in 2006. The mr2 has just to owners before me (a older couple in Switzerland and the lady here in Norway) The mr2 is never repainted and the body is rust-free and damage-free. Current kilometer is 180 000, and i just use it in the summertime. Stored in a garage during the winter 8)

The car is mostly original and my plan is to keep it as original as possible, with just small touches to make it mine.

Pictures of my beloved twos will be posted as soon i have enough posts :)

Thanks man! :)

My mr2 has got some positive feedback here in Norway at TS-ogn.com (my "show and shine" tread has one of the most hits, with 30956 and 663 replies). And it has just started to be known at the mr2.com site as well.

This summer i was sponsored by the American company EZ-LIP, and they supply my mr2 with descried front-lip, sideskirts and rear add-ons (pics will come :) )

I think that my mr2 has this interest because i hold it as near original as possible. My policy is that the mr2 is a classic car that will join the "911 icon" status :)

Thanks :) appreciate your comments!

Yellow fog lights fits the mr2 really well i think, and is the OEM color.

The yellow color brings a 90's retro look and makes it a bit JDM (in mine opinion) :)

Just a little update: Tomorrow i will receive a pair of JDM SW20 MR2 Special Edition Rear Quarter Window Panel.

These are rear and hard to get hands on, so i'm quite satisfied now :)

Some info fore those who are not so familiar with these panels:

It is clear, so you will still see outside or inside of the car perfectly.

No Mounting hardware needed, just place it inside of the rear quarter window and it will fit and stay perfectly, No Screws or Bolts needed. it will fit all 91-99 MR2 T-Tops, Hardtop or Sunroof model.

Toyota Discontinued this product long time ago. This was only found on very few 91-99 Special Edition SW20 MR2 as a original equippment.
Pics will come ;)

Thanks :)

Not much i will do besides keep it near original and look after him ;) I do have done some small mods since i bought it 2006. Here is a short brief of what i have done trough the years:
- new low profile tires all-around
- trd effects like oil cap, thermostat, center caps in rims, stickers, gas filler cap, cigarette lighter plug.
- KN panel airfilter in original boks
- X-strut in engine bay
- JVC head unit with touch screen
- Tang band 5.25" woofer in stock subwoofer box
- Leds in gauges, dome light, trunk, license plate, ash tray, cigarette light ring, left and right park light.
- Mr2 floor mats with red details
- Optima red-top battery
- Short shift from a 1997 MR2 GT
- New Shifter Base Bushings made out of delrin
- SHIFTER BUSHINGS made of brass billet
- 95+ shift knob with red painted stitching
- red stitch in gear-skin
- Pair of JDM SW20 MR2 Special Edition Rear Quarter Window Interior Panel
- TOYOTA TRD Real Metal Alloy Aluminum Door Sill Plates
- Treated with meguiars nxt tech wax
- Got the US company, EZ-LIP, as sponsor and attached their front EZ-LIP, EZ-Side Skirts and EZ-Add-Ons

Next summer i will change the timing-belt and water pump.

My vision is to keep it original, but in the future, when i am done with my education as Master, i will consider coilovers, new rims (work meister S1)

She's a beauty mate, jealous of all mr2 owners with cars as shiny as this one.

I'll also be following this thread with interest. KUTGW
