[Mk2] [Turbo] Rev 3 turbo fuel cut problem

Post by Sparkie 86 »

Hi all i no its probably been asked before, i have a Rev 3 turbo with the following mods: Apexi exhaust, air filter, de cat, Intercooler and just fitted a Blitz ebc i color today. I put it Max to 1.1bar boost as i have read on here should be ok. When i boot it and get to just about 1.1 bar it hits fuel cut. Do i need a fuel cut defender? or do i have a problem else where?

Cheers Si

You shouldn't be hitting fuel cut at 1.1bar on a rev 3. Fuel cut is at 18psi or 1.24 bar :-k

What's your boost gauge reading at max boost?

Hi, well i have a Blitz i color controller with a built in boost gauge. I put max 1.1 and it only just got there. it under full load say in 4th and you boot it, it might not be fuel cut but its like it cuts the fuel if that makes sense
Have i done something wrong?

Have you turned on the 'Limiter' function of the boost controller? If this is on it will limit the boost to whatever setting you have asked the controller to allow the boost to reach. If you exceed this set limit then the controller will detect it and try to bring boost down - you will feel the car 'stumble' a little at this point.

If you turn the limiter function off in the boost controller and just run the car off the manual boost control settings does it remove the 'fuel cut' problem?

rev3+ shouldn't use FCD's. You need to use the Paul Port type if you want to run higher than fuel cut on std ECU.

It could be the limiter on the ECB as pointed out by Kongaroo

Agree, I always understood fcds were a rev 1/2 item.
