MK1B T-Bar For Sale - 3,000 Dry Miles From New! The Best In The Country?

Post by D1SDM »

Please see explanation further down regarding a sale price, thanks.

I've reluctantly decided it's time to sell my MK1. It must be one of the very best Mk1's available anywhere in regard to condition and mileage and is possibly the best T-Bar in the country? It has only covered a genuine 3,000 miles from new and I'm only the second owner,it has never been driven in the rain and is completely 'as new' in every way!
I think I will be putting it up for sale on a comission basis using a local specialist garage but wanted to mention it on here first just in case any memebers were interested or new anyone who might be. There are a few pictures of it on the site if you look at AW11 picture thread (linked below) but if anyone needs anymore pictures or further details just get in touch. The car will be put car back to completely standard specification for the sale so if anyone is interested in the wheels, steering wheel, gear knob,Toyota CD player, cam covers etc let me know by PM as these will all be available for sale too in due course, probably via ebay, but I'd rather club members had first refusal.
All the best,Steve :)

I've been contacted by a couple of members explaining that I need to state a sale price in my advert otherwise it will be removed,I'm sorry for this but I really had no idea this was the case. The car has been valued by two different specialist garages at £10,000 and this is also the agreed insurance valuation it's been insured for during my 5 years of ownership. The sale price will therefore hopefully be somewhere around this figure. If I let the garage I have in mind market it for me then they'll obviously take their commission fee from this figure so if any members wanted to make me an offer of £8,000 I'd much prefer to sell it to a fellow enthusiast :) Steve

Hi Alex, no they're not BBS although that was the age/period of look I was trying to get. They're actually Lenso BSX rims in 7x15. Apart from obviously being one piece wheels the biggest give away that they're not the real thing is the Lenso centre nut is different to to the BBS one. The Lensos have a fake allen nut in each corner of the hexagon which looks a bit false and over fussy IMO So I had some centre nuts specially made in the genuine BBS style, then just changed the Lenso badges for BBS ones! They do look great though don't they :D Steve

Lovely looking car. Not meaning to be negative at all, but at that price range might have been best to show it with as many oem parts as possible put back on, especially with those low miles. Not that it isn't worth the money as it stands, but collectors might be thrown a bit with the number of mods that have been done, even if all oem parts are still available. GLWS.

Hi, thanks for your comments :) and yes totally agree with you about the modifications and they've now all been removed and the car is back to 100% standard ready to advertise for sale. Steve

Good job. That could help a lot. Look forward to seeing pics of it in its natural glory, so to speak. Again, glws. Love to see well cared for examples like that.
