Blue MR2 (8J2) With lots of extras TRADE

Post by AlexD »

Hi all,

It now seems time to part with my MR2 for a more sensible car with 4+ seats  (see bottom for what I am after)

She has had lots of money spent on her and she if full of character
Ill try and list what I know
Blue 8J2 1992 (K reg) was originally an NA 119bhp uk car spoilerless.
I have since added a spoiler, changed the rusty door and the wing due to bad paint. I also decatted the car and put a japspeed exhaust system on her

The car also has blue neon footwell lights and top interior blue lights
and the door lights are twin LED blue too.

As the 2nd gear was crunching I took her to luke at pacific works :thumleft:

Luke did endless work to the car including
Krish's rev 5 engine
luke also removed the emission controls for a little more power
A refurbed gearbox
new subframe
new bushes
new mounts
new drive shaft
new cv joint
wheels off a rev 3 (I forget what make they are, but aftermarket)
30mm lowering springs bought on IMOC
A push to start button
an Induction Kit with stainless steel cover
Ripspeed steering wheel with momo center
crystal clear headlights
and crystal black sidelights

I then got in touch with madbasshunter and we fitted
Cobra Imola 2 bucket seats
and did the rev 3 rear light conversion.
A 10" kicker in a custom box behind passenger seat
and an egde 1100 watt amp with custom board under the bonnet.

Still to fit is speedhut Blue and white dash with stainless steel surround
and two air style horns - lo and hi tone
and aftermarket foglights.

The engine is absolutely faultless as Krish and luke really looked after this engine (it was sold as Krish did the turbo mod)

Redlines at 7.2k
pulls like a train through every gear
car always been left to warm up for atleast 8-10 mins before driving anywhere!!

Now for what I am after.

As me and the missus are settling down and we have a dog now
 it would be nice to have a 4 wheeler with alot of room.

the cars ive been looking at so far...
lots of 4x4's such as Honda CRV's
Actually looked at a few ford maverick 2.7 turbo...
would like something high, manual, still with a little kick to it
RWD if not 4WD would be a bonus :oldtongue: and just generally mechanically sound. If you are interested in a possible swap please message me or Ideally text me on 07505392091

Pictures of the car are here

just for those of you reading the mileage clock its actually on about 125k

Please note a few pics before work done (such as rear lights and wheels seats ect) and then pics with work done (i took them today in the wet)

Thanks all :thumleft:

I can confirm that this engine is sweet :thumleft: :thumleft:

The engine has full service history. I don't have my service book at hand but I can check the dates/mileage of the services if anyone is concerned.

got some nice bits, but even though it has a later engine its a K reg mr2 in not the greatest colour (all personal comments of course) so £2500 is unlikely when you consider you can buy a modified rev3 turbo for that sort of money.

someone will be along with real world experience of selling a similar aged one then you can adjust from there maybe, im not being negative without reason just that you need to sell it to get a bigger car and unless it sells before the winter it will be worth a little less and you wont have the next car you want/need (unless you can buy it independantly)

good luck
