Bottom ball joint spacer

Post by mulaz »

Stripping down front suspension to fit new poly bushes,
found one thin spacer packing piece under the offside ball joint and none under the nearside.

i remember reading the MrT fitted the odd pack piece when building up the cars.

going to have a 4 wheel alignment done afterwards so should i refit the packing when i build up the suspension or leave it out?

Some have them, some dont. I left mine out as they had rusted badly.

I believe it's there to counter the weight of the driver, as it's always the OSF that it's fitted to it seems, best guess.

I was guessing something along these lines, or they realised last minute it something was of slightly so fitted it to balance things out.
