I have a primary shaft (goodness knows what make/model it came from)

Have been able to use it for engine/gearbox matings on a range of different cars

IIRC it was pressed into service when I swapped my Mk1 box :)

Well, we'll keep an eye out for one. Engine and box should be coming out again in a few months(!).

Okay all done. Pleased to report everything okay, though the clutch pedal seems to have a bit of play in it, as if it needs bleeding. Is biting a bit low, but works okay.

New jack. The £20 Aldi one really was crap, so had to buy something that could get the car high enough. This works well enough. :+:

Mark about to give the engine a hug, he loves 4AGE's. ;)

Rear end in the air, don't worry that rear foglight turned out to have broke it's mounting. What a shame, now no longer fitted. :)

We locktited the flywheel bolts as we didn't do it last month when we swopped the engine stuff around.

Arty shot through the hole for the gearstick to the driver's seat:

Alright for some eh?

View from the rear. Flywheel can be seen:

Here you can clearly see the flywheel with no spigot bearing in the middle:

Yay, spigot bearing fitted!

Pic of the gearbox. End of input shaft where it locates in the bearing can be clearly seen:

At last it's done, should all be good for the trackday on Saturday. Also whilst there I tidied up the exhaust wrap and fixed a small coolant leak where it transpired there was a hose that wasn't done up properly from the engine change back in February! It was really easy to fix but only because the gearbox was out, so result really as I had noticed some coolant being used, but wasn't sure where it was going.

Great job Lauren & Mark :)

Well done :thumleft:

I like a girl who gets under & lifts her gearbox down :)

Have never actually come across one before (unfortunately) :-k

Cheers, Peter and LOL!

Tell you what, I'm going to enjoy that trackday come Saturday! Can't wait now! :)

Oh and come on over to Angers, if you fancy it, some IMOC luminaries will be there! It'll be like the good old days when we all met up and did trackdays all the time. :)
