Re: Crashed mr2's
This was my first 1.5's first morning on the road.
Managed to go head on into a 70 odd year old BRM type race car.

My insurance took a while to get back to normal after that day!

The car did pretty well, mine took all the impact and the passenger cabin was still completely intact
- the car I hit had an oval nose cone which buried it's way into my car.

Re: Crashed mr2's
Because Peter its very inconvenient when I work 35 miles away from work and I don't have a reliable car.
Very awkward when I have to ask to borrow a van from work.

I'm looking at a Mk4 Golf GT TDI 130/150 3dr in Silver or Gun Metal, budget is 3k

Can chip the 150 to 205 hp and 320 nm torque.
More power than the 1.8-2.0 petrol Mk4s

Plus they would still do 50+ MPG and if I can squeeze 42 MPG on a daily basis from the MR2 i'm pretty sure I can get the best out of a diesel

He's not selling it on here unless he pays for premium membership.

Pay for the premium membership or stop talking about sellling the car!

I'm looking at working 50 miles away and commuting in the AE86.

Your car could be reliable if you had a decent engine that wasn't bodged.

I'm not listing it for sale on here, I was merely saying its going to be sold.

The engine I purchased from Paul Woods is going in next weekend.

Yes but Lauren, the wage I am on, can not simply justify spending

Re: Crashed mr2's
Unfortunately when the engine blew up it was two weeks before Xmas and I haven't got money burning holes in my pockets so I had to do the best I could with the money I had at the time.

Bearing in mind I had to buy a radiator, getting the head skimmed and put it all back together in a week with bloody cold rainy weather I'd say it did well covering over 4k miles.

Re: Crashed mr2's
Does this qualify as a decent engine Lauren?

http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=157219

Possibly not as pokey as my 130bhp Rogue engine that's being removed but this one won't be suffering from block corrosion.

Re: Crashed mr2's
It's not cheap.

But I guess it's recon'd.
It's always a lottery tbh.
Unless you rebuild an engine yourself there's no real way of guarranteeing anything, though I would say Paul is good to his word, so you've got that which is worth something for sure.

Hope it all works out, I know what it's like not having any money and I did a cheap job of bolting up another bottom end to get my car on the road.
Sometimes you have to cut corners, I understand that.

So, I hope it works out for you.

Over the coming months it's looking like I will build up a nice 4AGE.
I've been very fortunate to land a job that will more than double my salary, so I'd love to build up a nice 4AGE.

In regard to selling and all that, I was just trying to convince you to keep the MR2.

Re: Crashed mr2's
I went into the back of a MK3 VW Polo about 5 years ago in my mk1a at around 10mph.
Had just given the deposit of my Mk1b the same week so had to find readies to pay for
£700 damage to the polo! Not a great week.
