So.. my original aerial was removed and the hole smoother over. I had one of those cheap amplified antennas stuck to the windshield, but the reception was worse than crap...
So i figured, how do i get a solid antenna, but not have to punch holes anywhere? Went to halfords and this happened :
I figure if it doesnt work well I can always replace the panel. Still havent run the antenna cable to the head unit, will do that during next weekend

You must listen to the radio a lot then? Have you tried mounting the aerial in different places either hidden in the front trunk or rear boot or behind the centre panel? I think it looks better smoothed out with no aerial visible at all.
I dont spend enough time in my MR2 to be bothered about the radio myself I just whack a cd on most the time. I have one of those cheap plastic aerials in the front and it picks up a few stations, it`s not fantastic though.

This is what i use, I mounted it on the inner wing behind where the stock antenna used to be.

completely invisible and works perfect! however, when i purchased mine, it was only £3 !

Are these easy to fit? Any rewiring required?
Re: [Mk2] [Generic] quick radio aerial hack
Peace of cake! they have a double side adhesive strip on the back of the unit so you just have to clean the inside pannel and press the ariel on! Wiring wise, the antenna cable just connects the same way as the stock ariel, there is a positive +12v that you have to connect tho, it does work without it but best to use it. Just find a +12v source and splice it in. theres one going to the stock ariel motor iirc?
