whats with all these fake / advertisement accounts that are popping up all over the place lately and posting in old sales threads etc, seems to be alot more than usual.
lol, is there not a code validation / verification on the Registration of this forum eg you have to enter 6 letters / numbers that are in a small image box?
Yep, hence the suspisions of moronic infiltration.
We've switched to manual approval of accounts for the moment so it should cease and desist while we figure out a way to prevent the spammage.
maybe have people post a profile up with pics of there car etc, something that will add time onto registering, surely that will stop them unless they are ultra sad with way too much free time lol?

I think the majority of it is automated. Most botting engines are actually quite clever at bypassing the security features of sites. they are a pain..
good luck with that one, ask them to submit a photo with todays newspaper headline above their heads and an extra piece of text saying they love MR2's of all shapes and sizes. That'll slow the spam down

why aren't you allowed.. that would solve the issue..
You would think so, but all deleting users does is break the forum There are lots of things linked to a user, you would need to delete all their posts first and then close any reports they had open about their posts before you could delete the user. I think we do actually have a tool for that, somewhere.
