Is it possible to get this done on a LHD also?
The US made LHD units are not made anymore and is hard to find.

Again I would like to thank the people who have paid their deposits and in full for the upgraded pinion. Also for being patient with this group buy. I have not forgotten about you.

Come on the rest of you people that are sitting on the fence. We only need a few more to make this happen. :)

If you want the pinion assembled a deposit is £78.00. Full price is £233.00 - deposit.

If you would prefer to assemble the pinion yourself, a deposit is £78.00. Full price is £220.00 - deposit.

These prices do not include delivery cost. That will have to be decided when the pinion is produced.

To encourage the first ten customers, I have temporarily reduced the price to £233.00 which would normally be for the 15 -19 unit price.

Three people have paid their deposits, one person has paid in full.

Yes the lhd version can be made, but I would need at least ten people to make it at a reasonable price.

The only difference is that you either install the upgraded part yourself, which requires a press. A local garage could probably help you out with this if you do not have a press.

Or when requested, send me your standard pinion to be upgraded.

SFLee, Leakie Tbar, and Cyrix sorry for not answering your questions sooner. My email usually lets me know when there are new comments on IMOCUK, so I can't explain why it didn't for the three of you.

OK, when the time comes like you say, you can send the extra for the assembled pinion.

We still need a few more people to join in on the group buy to start production.

I just need everybody to be patient with this to make it happen.

When the part is produced:

A: The people who have paid for it to be assembled should post their MR2 steering pinion to me to have it assembled. I will then return the upgraded pinion by post.

Or

B: For those who want to assemble the upgraded pinion themselves, I can post it soon after it has been produced. This way there would be less down time on your MR2 because you only remove the original pinion when you have the upgraded part in your possession.

Although it can be done quicker, I would allow for a full day to remove the old pinion and install the upgraded part.

If you are anyway unsure of your capabilities to do this upgrade, I would recommend you have a qualified mechanic do the job for you.
