ive been posting on another forum for my area (swindon), talking to a new setreo shop that has opened.
basically to find out about a price of a sub box.
anyway this is how it went:::::::::::

can you get hold of custom sub boxes for a mk2 mr2? ive found them for 10'' subs but i need em for 12'' (2 of em)

i can get the custom form built sub boxes for near side and off side for your car but i imagine these r the ones u found already cause they only fit 8" or 10" subs. wat subs did u want to fit?

ive got 2x 12" subs that i had in my old car, i just wanted to re use them rather than go and buy some more.

the 10" moulded boxes are £145 each, if u dont mind filling up your boot space i got a double 12" box that would sort u out for £80.00

would the double box go behind the seats? as there is no point putting them in the boot as the engine is between the cabin and the boot.

no chance the double 12" wud be in the boot, but if you set it all up properly and run a decnt amp you ill easily hear & feel the bass from outside the car, let alone in the cabin where it will still sound good.

what the h£ll??? put them in the boot??? thats not right surley i want to hear the bass inside the car not outside, are they mad.

As far as I can see all you'll get is any rattles and reverbarations transferring along the body work. Better off getting some MDF and making your own, at least then you can get the correct size for your subs rather than just a generic size. Other option is if the box for tens is big enough just enlarge the hole to accept a 12.

hi m8, i have 2x12" subs fitted to my car (1 behind each seat), and depending on how tall you or your passenger/s are standard size 12" single boxes fit fine, but if you need more space to move the seats then if youre handy with the old mdf and jigsaw, you can remove the back and tops, and simply fit a lager backpanel and a new top which simply makes them taller and thinner but leaves the air space inside pretty much the same, beuaty of this method is that single 12 boxes can be picked up for around 20 quid so nice and cheap, and if you can fit standard size boxes like i have, they can accept some serious subs !! i have two splx 1000watt dvc's running off a directed mono block amp @ 1500watts !! sounds awsome but can cause backache, lol. for me the loss of seat movement was a small price to pay for the quality of the sound, hope this gives you some ideas.
p.s tried custom box in boot, guess what, dont work !!

ammendment to that post, forgot to put that before fitting larger back panel and top to modded boxes, sides and bottom panels will need trimming in order to narrow the boxes first, sorry.
