1992 Rev 2 G-Limited N/A T-Bar £600

Post by Paul F »

The time has come to sell my MR2 and move on to another. It’s a 1992 Rev 2 G-Limited T-Bar in Steel Mist Grey.

It has 106,400 miles (will go up due to being my daily car). 7 Months MOT and 1 Month Tax.
It’s an Import T-Bar with a later rev3 3sge engine that was installed when I bought the car in 2005 and has had the following work done since I owned the car:

Clifford Concept 650 CAT 1 immobiliser and alarm with remote central locking fitted 2005
New T-Bar seals 2007
Rear disks and pads 2008
Front disks 2008 and pads 1 month ago also new calliper slider pins and seals
Inner and outer steering arms replaced Feb 2009
Front Drop links replaced 2010
Pi lowering springs 2006
K&N 57i Induction kit 2006 cleaned and re-oiled Feb 2010
Same colour re-spray with all the back parts colour coded 2006
Rocker cover gaskets replaced June 2011
Rocker cover, Inlet Manifold and Throttle body painted June 2011
Alternator belt replaced July 2011
HT leads replaced Feb 2010
Replaced driver’s door 2010 due to rust
White El-Glow dials March 2010
Both handbrake cables replaced Feb 2006
New battery (Halfords HCB Calcium) has 4 years warranty on it and I will provide the receipt Jan 2010

Interior is half leather, It has a JVC DAB radio and JBL Speakers.

The paint has only ever been cleaned with microfiber cloths and has been regularly polished. It’s been regularly serviced and the last one was done a few weeks ago with genuine Toyota parts. It’s been my daily runner for the last 6 years and has never let me down the engine runs well and pulls nicely through all the gears.

Now the bad parts:

Rust on both sills.
Rust on the rear driver’s side wheel arch.
Drivers door slightly different shade due to a bad paint match when changed.
MOT advisory for all brake pipes.
Air Con does not work.
Seats aren’t in a good condition
Alloys need a refurb.
Not much tread on rear tyres, fronts have loads.
Needs wheel alignment done and possibly a front wheel bearing.
No service history – I have the receipts of the parts for the last service.

I am selling it due to not having the time to correct the above faults, as it’s my daily car I cannot afford it to be of the road while I carry out the work. You are welcome to come and see the car at any time and test drive it until the tax runs out at the end of August.
