More problems!

Post by Pidge »

I fit some speed hut dials a while ago but the speedo (mechanical) doesn't read correctly. It says I'm doing 0 until I get to around 60 then starts to go up?

Also the same time the indicators on the dash stopped working but exterior wise they are fine. Also the motor for the washer jets has packed in ](*,)

I have checked all the connections and the fuses and they are all fine as far as I can remember. I have done a lot of dash work this weekend and checked everything but it still has the same faults and I wondered if you had any ideas what is wrong.

I have also removed the pop up lights and fit quads but don't think that this would have affected anything that I can think of

Any help greatly appreciated :thumleft:

The relay for the indicators is in the hazard switch. I forgot to plug mine back in and they won't work. As for the speedo, is the needle catching on the dial? You taken the cable out the back of the dash and checked its all free?

Yeah the hazard light switch is fine as if it wasn't plugged in they wouldn't work at all. The exterior ones fit fine bud.

The needle hasnt been taken off and the needle doesn't catch the dial. I have tried all the usual items and just can't think as to why I have all these problems.

Is the speedo needle getting snagged on something?

Hazard switch needs to be plugged in for indicators on dash to work.

Hope this helps :thumleft:

The needle is free to move and the hazard switch is fine as I wouldn't get any external indicators. I have checked all the fuses and I'm still clueless ](*,)

Cheers for the thoughts though bud.

Cheers jase I'll have a look and see what I find but it could be there as the unlock on the central locking is a bit intermittent so maybe there is a problem around there?

With the speedhut dials - did you remove and then refit the speedo needle?

If so, it sounds like its position wasn't held until you refitted the needle, giving you the 60mph offset.

Hi ben, got it all sorted now bud thanks.

I think it was a bad join between the flexi PCB and the dial as I took them out to make custom dials from the speed hut bases :thumleft:
