MK3 project - £1000

Post by foxy-stoat »

Due to buying our first house that needs a fair bit of internal work, I have no time to properly finish my mk3 project, so passing it on to someone else.

W reg mk3 with 109k miles - 5 speed manual - engine/box/shafts have been removed already but are included in the sale.
No history.
Think it might still be MOT'd, will have to check tho.
Soft top has a previous repair on the corner behind the drivers door where the roof creases - doesnt leak.
Have new front disks and pads, still boxed which I will bung in for free with the car for the asking price.
Full leather is in good condition.
Waxes up pretty well, see pics, its now buried in the garage so cant take any other photos at the moment.
17inch wheels with good tread on the tyres, one wheel has a 2cm piece missing from the outer rim, doesnt run flat at all so probably just cosmetic.

I have a set a 15inch standard wheels that are due to be blasted and painted white which can be included for the cost of the refurb, if you get in quick i can tell them to paint them a different colour!

Sorn'd as of the end of last month, due to the daft insurance/tax rules
Engine and box are out, have a replacement engine on a pallet which is included in the sale.

I was going to strip the new engine down and replace the pistons for the 2003+ ones but theres nothing to stop you from refitting the new engine. Was told that engine ran sweet with no nasty noises or smoke, but thats about it. It may be a-ok but really dont know if it uses oil or not or if it has any issues, so up to you if you strip it down or not.

Pre cats are intact, but you will be removing them anyway, theres a scuff on the rear bumper and small scuff on the front bumper but other than that the paint work is in good shape for the age/mileage.

£1000 as it is, looking on the e-bay, there are a few spares/repairs that havent sold for £1000+, and thats without the spare engine. Would need collecting on a recovery truck and a van for the engines. Have an engine hoist for loading.

If it doesnt sell I will end up refitting the engine I have without opening it but fit a new clutch, and see how it runs, re-mot it and sell it for around £1500, which is still pretty cheap considering.

This would be ideal for someone who wants to v6 or 2zz it.
