Discussion and technical advice the SW20 MR2. 3S-GTE, 3S-GE, 3S-FE etc
Anything and everything to do with maintenance, modifications and electrical is in here for the Mk2.
Yes it's a tbar but it doesn't seem to be leaking from the usual place.
I pulled away yesterday and water started to drip out of my pillar pod
I just don't understand where it's coming from, any ideas guys as I don't like getting wet
I had this - water dripping from top gauge in pillar pod but not visible anywhere else - I had to remove the t-bar seal from that top corner of the roof and reapply the OEM sealant that goes between the shiny groove down the a-pillar and the start of the T-bar frame bit. It is shown in the BGB where to apply it.
Cheers for the info bud, sorry for the late reply. I have 3 defi gauges and thought I had shorted all three and with that and getting wet feet when it rained it was almost time to sell up but I kept on at it and they work fine now so onto the leak
Do you know where I can get a copy of the page (or the whole thing) in the bgb?
What i have done to a friends is cut some old bycicle inner tube and stuck that on blends in very well and works a treat its just where the old rubber has worn , same with when you get road interference noise on motorways through your windows by your mirror
hope that helps
I have 3 Defi gauges in the A-pillar too. Don't worry about shorting them out - when the water did collect behind them it could not pool high enough to reach the connector.
BGB reference page: BO-55
Second picture down has a black squiggly line on it - this is where the sealant should be.
BGB is available somewhere online but I don't have the web addy handy.
Cheers for that matey I'll give it a go, if you do find the bgb online can you pm me the addy please. I tried to buy one but it went for over £70 and don't want one that badly
