Don't even go to Luke (Pacific Works) if....

Post by CardHore »

.... you give him something to fit and expect it to be thrown in.

Which to be honest what I was hoping when I asked Luke and his gingerly Mick Hucknell looking side-kick Nick (sorry mate it just sounded funny, hah... Nick Hucknell!! ) to retro fit the first TOM'S Hyper carbon air intake box he had ever seen let alone even fitted to a turbo application!.

Some hours later after a 'leisurely' ride in his MR2 which consisted of round-about facing action to SFS hoses and back (actually cool that Luke took time out to take me pretty far out to get the fixtures and fittings required to fit a near 20 year old airbox), he had the intake box fitted like it came out of the factory. Hoses are squarely lined up very well considering these are N/A fitment induction boxes and it just looks pure savage (pictures to follow).

Nick however had the ar$e end of my car lit up as he says and I quote 'Wheeey it's like a Christmas Tree!!' when he did the quad tail light conversion and fitted fully functional USDM rear corner markers. He also replaced all my silly cone hoses while Luke anally <---yes perfected the fitment of the induction box...

The result.... It sounds amazing on full chat and let off hearing air sucking and blowing through like Jenna Jameson on viagra. Peformance I actually felt was more aggressive after I tinkered with the boost as it was altered after fitment. Cooling temperatures were consistently low as well. I iz well chuffed!!

I know Luke is very good at his job but I really thought the airbox would be a simple fit, couple of odd nuts and washers, cable ties and put in upside down to fit... 'It's gotta be done properly' he says... He was right cos the fitment looks incredible!... Best bit is how the air filter itself sits directly under the TOM'S Scoop.

... and as usual with both their time and effort put into my car I was charged a price that was of unbelievably great value. :thumleft:

Oh yes that's the one.... I enquired further into the seller who sent me pics with his name written on paper next to it. Man ive still gotta post a picture up. The performance increase is brilliant, much more aggressive and intake temps are so constantly low. Luke done a pucka job making it fit.
Im proper proud of that airbox, it gained quite a bit of interest at JapFest.
