Has anyone any knowledge of splitting these rims?
Im hoping that its just a matter of removing the bolts and the middle will fall out without any gasket/sealing problems?

Yup take the bolts out with 10mm spanner/socket on the back and a 10 sided either 8 or 10mm socket on the front.
Once they are all out you can just use a bit of force and they split leaving the outer lip and the tyre as one with the centre removed.
Just uploading a pic of mine split.

Excellent, just the info i was after. Liking the colour scheme.
Think i'm gona go for black centres and keep the polished lip.

thanks

Re: [All] [Generic] Enkei racing split rims refurbing
8mm 12 sided socket for the front of them 10mm 6 sided for the rear
Front should be like this-
They are just standard sockets nothing fancy.
http://www.teng.co.uk/m120508-c-teng-to ... 836_pd.asp
I like the colour but I was hoping the bronze would be a little lighter so it may just change (again)
I was going to polish mine but I was wearing my fingers away quicker than I was getting anywhere with them, so decided a metallic bronze picked to complement the red against the (hopeful matte grey paint)

I was just going to say, make sure you use a 6 sided socket/spanner for the nuts

Use a piece of wood and a rubber mallet when convincing the center to separate from the lips. Don't wont to bend it
Re: [All] [Generic] Enkei racing split rims refurbing
very cool post im doing somthing similar in the near future...

BUMP!
I just bought a set of these.
loudandproud205, how easily did the centres come out when you'd removed the bolts?
Looking at the backside of the wheel, I can't see a line between the edge of the centre and the inside of the rim, but I'm guessing they're just full of crap and I cannot see it.

Re: [All] [Generic] Enkei racing split rims refurbing
I used a rubber mallet to knock it through as it was tight.
Jumping on it made little difference and I started to think I couldn't split them but a few not over aggressive blows see it moving.
Remember to take it out as straight as possible.

I unbolted one of them yesterday and gave the inside a good cleaning out and found the line of sealant between the centre and the rim, and it is pretty tight eh! Rubber mallet it is then.
Cheers
