Rev 2/3 or Turbo Brakes on Rev1

Post by JaaN »

Hi guys, i want to upgrade brake discs for my MR2 Rev1 to bigger ones, Fronts 275mm and Rears 281mm, i believe these are for turbo and Rev2/Rev3 models and i was wondering would they fit Rev1 or would i have to upgrade my brake calipers as well??

NOW FOR A PROPER ANSWER

yes you need to change the calipers/pads too, they are a direct bolt on to your hubs though.

fyi the mr2s had the same brakes no matter what they were NA od turbo so ALL rev1s had the same size and ALL rev2+ cars had the same size.

I have a set of calipers with used discs and pads for sale if you are interested.

some also change the master cylinder to a later one, i also have one of these for a non abs car and an abs car (whatever you have)

pm if you are interested

I did the swap of calipers, discs and pads but left the m/c alone. Great results, well worth it. Got the lot including braided lines and fitting for £300 I believe.
