Rev 1/2's usual have a little gearbox type reducer fitted to the speedo cable that reduces the input to the dash but the ratio of KPH to MPH

(0.62) which in turn raises the point of which the dash sends signal to ECU.

Or iirc, you can get a signal clamp to fit from the signal wire to ecu, but then you'd still have a KPH dash.

Another point is, using the speedo converter, raises the point for the power steering assistance cut of to around 80mph iirc, meaning you will have steering assistance at motorway speeds, but think you'd just get used to that!!
