Mine was £300 this time last year..
for some reason its literally doubled this year.. no changes at my end, the quote was for it garaged, limited miles, 3rd car, and separate full no claims on it... was thro A-Plan..

The chap who bought it off me had to pay similiar too ~£600

In any case, ( OP ), you need to phone round the usual specialists for quotes, as the 'mainstream' insurers either wont know what you are talking about and not quote, or worse will quote you for an NA, and not realise you mean a SC.. computer says no etc..

It is worth it tho, I had to sell my SC for 'other' reasons, but I wouldnt have let the insurance costs stop me.

ebay ad.

maybe worth trying to contact him via ebay

That add is a bit miss leading IMO, He used to have it advertised as no rust :^o just look at the rust stains on the mudflaps, But he has changed listing, I think a member from here or the mk1 club has looked at this car but it at the time the seller wanted nearer £4k for it and from what I was told it was worth no where near that amount SE or not, He has been trying to sell for months.

This one is taken off ebay again. Something a bit dodgy going on?

I pay £149 a year on my SC with Chaucer on the Mark 1 Club Classic scheme. Was paying £169 on my last NA with them, two years ago.

All sorted - thanks autobody. We'll see how we get on. The car is fine. I just wonder if I've got used to modern cars a bit!

no problem, enjoy the car mate... got to use your driving skills on these mk1 sc, as there is no pas, abs, or modern technology. but once you get the hang of it am sure you will have lots and lots of fun...

the way i drove it was only 50 percent of the limit. you can push this car in any corner and come out laughing...

miss the car already... :(

Sorry for a thread revival but i am now looking at getting a mk1 SC again, i love the blue one you have bought 8)

What was the asking price for it as i can see it on the listing and i am looking to try and get a ballpark for what i can expect to pay for a good one. Very jealous about your purchase, its stunning 8)

Im checking the mk1 club, 2brutal, here, autotrader, gumtree, pistonheads, classic car... is there anywhere else i am missing? Ideally id like to buy one like yours but its unlikely i will be that lucky  Did you see the pile of receipts for your car  :thumleft:

Any help appreciated :thumleft:
