[Mk2] [NA] overheating air n system maybe

Post by TRDave »

ive taken my car to garage and they have told me my pipes from hell were not leaking and it was radiator cap :)
problem i have now is i took it for a good test run and gave it a bit of a thrashing just to see if anything dodgy happened.

got water spitting out of expansion overflow pipe where i overfilled it probably but the car got hot on tickover.
it cooled down when i uped the revs still stationary.
i noticed the heater went cooler slightly when overheating on tickover and warmed up when reved and the engine temp dropped.
does this sound like air in the system to you guys...
if it is could someone please post me a link to bleeding it.
in fact if theres any decent mechanics in brighton area pleased to help lol

cheers dave

Sounds like air in the system, there should be a guide on the Knowledge Base somewhere, or in the BGB onlilne, but The link I had on my favorites isnt working for some reason.

If you do a search for BGB, you should stumble across it.

If your anywhere near hailsham tomorrow, I can give you a 5 minute lesson in bleeding the air out, got the day off work :thumleft:
