Nice result!!

Post by mikey2 »

Hi all, i have been looking at the wing on my car getting really annoyed with it for weeks, it looked like someone had cleaned it with a brillo pad!! Right at the back at the top whatever was used had gone right through, even through the primer in places, and along the top of the wong it was almost down to primer anyway!!! some really shocking paintwork!!

Anyway, i decided in my infinite wisdom that i would take the wing off and rub it back and spray it, so i did.
everything went well until i had to take the toblerone indicator and strip off, i had to drill it in the end, so if anyone knows of one!!!
Rubbing back went well, i had a tin of paint that halfords mixed up for me, about 2.5 years ago, i found it in the garage the other day, so i used that, prepared for it to go very wrong cos it was too old, however, it actually went on quite well, and i am quite pleased with the finish!!
You can see a very minor difference where its been painted, but you have to look close to see it!
i then t cut the whole wing to get rid of the overspray, and then clayed it, then used meguiars stage one paint prep, then stage 2 polish, twice, then finished it off with a bit of t cut colour magic in black.
I think it went ok! especially as i am not a sprayer!!!

What do you think??

The second one isnt great, it didnt want to focus on the black!!!

Thanks for looking

Cheers, i have no idea on the paint, it was from halfords about 2 and half years ago, when i had my last 2. Its the stuff they mix for you, not the off the shelf stuff.
