Hello all...
Can anyone help with providing a photo of a Turbo starter motor in place (& wired up)... I am in the middle of a rebuild, and cant figure out the configuration of the wiring to it.
Thanks
Theres only a few wires.
I big thick wire that bolts on, the small wire on a spade connector that fits on.
And a medium/smallish wire with a big round washer on, that goes on the same bolt where the big wire fixes to.
Sorry no pics, but theres not that much else.
how many wires should be on the altrnator?
basically iv removed my wiring loom to fit a new inlet, and have gone to put back, but when i go to start the car it fires the starter motor constantly!
Thinking one big wire and the alternator wiring plug which is oval or round. Dont think you can mess that up !
As for the starter constantly turning, I wouldnt like to say, unless you can take a pic.
The car turns over without me having to turn key, as soon as i give it live.
iv got a spade like wire, which i thought went to earth? so have bolted to body, should this have gone to the alternator big bolt?
Not sure.
Sounds like you have wired up a perminate live to the cranking switch on the starter.
I thought the alternator only has 1 big wire, but could be wrong.

indirectly yes as its all part of the same circuit. You havent connected the inlet earth wire to the alternator have you? Although if you had i'm guessing it will be flames by now! Sounds like you have put it back together wrong, difficult to know how to fix this mistake if you cant see what you have done.
what should the wire look like iv connected to the alternator? single thick wire, that has spade terminal with sides.
also got another wire with spade terminal, hole in middle 3 wires going in it, where does this go?

The wire should only just reach to the alternator. The other thick wire that goes to the back of the inlet is the earth one.
Can you not crawl underneath and take a photo of what you have done?
