Mk2 Black Rev1 Tbar Turbo - On EBAY Currently £980 NO RESERVE

Post by Mr2 CJ »

Mk2 Rev 1 Turbo for sale.

I need to sell this soon as i am moving house and do not have the space for three cars. Price dropped from £1850 a couple of weeks ago and now at £1500 (i have only price dropped on here as i get LESS timewasters than pistonheads/Autotrader).

The following has been done since I have owned the car:

Engine
Rev1 Turbo Conversion
Brand New Full stainless Exhaust twin exit with decat (costing just under £300.)
HKS Turbo Timer
HKS SSQV Dump Valve
Cone Air Filter

Chassis
Rev3 wheels with nearly new yokohama tyres worth over £500 (with receipts to prove).
Rev3 brake conversion

Exterior Bodywork
Turbo Engine lid
Rev3 Rear Light conversion with flushed centre panel

Interior
Revision 3 Seats - Great Condition with NO holes in the bolster!
Aftermarket steering wheel and boss
New Gearstick and Handbrake gaiter
Mounted Splitfire boost gauge

This car got an M.O.T until 16th March 2011 which passed with NO advisories. I have now just put on 6 months tax at the cost of £112.50 which lasts until Dec 2010.

This car started off as a G-Limited Rev1 N/A and has since had a turbo conversion from a rev1 turbo mr2. This was done by a company that restores classic cars and i have the genuine toyota manuals for the mr2 chassis and 3SGTE Engine that i gave them to complete this. They also fitted Rev3 brakes for this setup.

When the conversion was done the cambelt was changed along with all pumps. This car has only been used as a weekend car and since the conversion has been off the road for the past year as I was toying whether to make it into a track car. Now with the move and owning a Mk2 V6 and Audi A3 Diesel the r2 turbo needs to be sold.

Today (1st June) I have done an oil change with new oil filter and sump plug. I have also got the air filter cleaning kit and cleaned the induction kit and replaced the spark plugs.

The car has 112,400 km on the clock and is 1990 on a H reg. Because of the turbo conversion this means it is really cheap to insure. I have not declared the turbo engine because it was going to be used as a track day car and now as i am selling it i dont want to NOT have the log book if a buyer turns up. So registering it is at the new owners discretion! When I was 20 it cost me £470 for the year (3 yrs NCB). I am now paying £323 (Classic Insurance and being 25 and not using my NCB so its 0 NCB).

The car has all the factory extras like folding mirrors, ABS , PAS, climate control, front fogs lights etc.

I have loads of photos available on request.....

Bad points:Every car has them (even a brand new Toyota from the sound of things)

Rust spot on edge of the roof (have got a pic but need to upload, size of 1p coin)

Front bumper has a few stone chips and could do with a respray to make perfect.

Since the turbo conversion was done the gearbox speedo has not worked. The gearbox still works and drives fine but the speedo does not work and the odometer does not go up. This could be the gearbox, speedo cable or sensor. I havent got the time to fix this hence the price drop. I have proof of sorns and have only driven it to the MOT centre and to and from work during May and then to the beach on the 19th June. So around 150-200 miles miles.

This car has loads of receipts and I have probably missed loads on this ad.

PM me or call/txt 07834 459 008 if have any questions.

I am looking for £1500 no offers

Is the car not declared as being a turbo then mate? Should it not have been? Not sure this would go down well with insurers if you had an accident? Or has it just not affected insurance badly and been declared?
Speedo does not work
And if the speedo does not work is the mileage still clocking up? Just wondering how you can tell the tyres have only done 200 miles and the cambelt done 5000 miles ago if the car isnt clocking mileage?

The originally bought a turbo car as a toy while i had my NA. So i did the cambelt and full service when i bought and then i drove it for 4200 miles (speedo was converted into miles not KM) until it failed an MOT on most of the suspension etc. so I took the engine and a few other bits out as the shell was nackered. In the conversion the speedo has stopped working but i also sold the LSD it came with and put in a std box so it could be either a sensor/gearbox/cable.

I then put it into my G-Limited N/A as that had a good shell. That car i was going to track so had it off the road for about 2 years (so literally drove it down the road once the engine was in). Then with the change of plan (V6 Mr2) means that i MOT'd it in March and Taxed in June.

I have driven it to the MOT centre and work when the weather has been too bad to cycle (as it is a 4 mile round trip) So that is well under 5000.

About what the engine was registered as:
I wasnt going to change it for when it was a track car as there would be no point. I have just MOT'd it and taxed it (and have proof of the SORN) i didnt want to send the log book off when i was trying to sell it as i always get put off when people say that they dont have the log book and so i will leave that to the buyers discretion.

The tyres:
These came off my V6 mr2. The seller told me it had 200 miles, i drove it back from London > Kent and then just MOT centre and work (maximum 150 miles). This i CANT prove the milage but if you looked at them you would agree and MOST importantly if this was a deal breaker then the person is looking to tyre kick not buy my car!

Thanks for your questions, hopefully these have cleared up other people queries.

Chris

Price drop as i need to sell as i am moving house at the end of the month! £1500 is a bargain IMO. Have been offered £1250 from the garage that MOT'd it but dont want to see it go for that little when it is worth a lot more (again in my opinion). But it will be sold at the end of the month. Please no timewasters.....

Call me on 07834 459008.
