How to remove Air Conditioning belt

Hello there, im trying to replace my alternator belt but to do that i have to remove the AC belt... how do i do this lol.

Basically im trying to find the adjuster for the AC belt to loosen it off, does anyone have any pictures of where this is in the engine?

the air con belt goes round 3 pulleys, the crank, the compressor and an idler at the top. behind the idler pulley is a bolt head on the flat part of the idler bracket. undoing that will slacken the idler pulley allowing you to remove the belt. if in doubt keep undoing bolts around the idler pulley. theres nothing critical there, and you eventually get there.

I think, but I'm not certain, that you need to undo the bolt in the middle of the pulley first otherwise the one on top won't slacken the pulley...

yep you are right, i had forgotten that part.

Well got the new belt on and its running like a dream.

Very fiddly job to do with the lack of space and just when things where going well we found that the tensioning bolt on the alternator belt was missing lol, luckily it was just a case of finding another bolt that would fit.
