I dont think you need a oil cooler on a road car, but relocating the filter on a Rev 1 & 2 would be a good idea. I will be moving mine onto the bulkhead at some stage.

Bolton is right regarding a thermostat.

Buying from Rally design in Herne bay Kent is probably the cheapest option for new bits.

I watched Andy's engine die on the 1/4 due to one of these...Worked itself loose and blew all the oil out. #-o Waste of money Gav unless you are doing serious track days.

ive been running a phoenix power oil cooler one last 18months, no issues as of yet, touch wood....

tho i do have a phoenix power sump spacer also, which aids even further id guess for cooling the oil and engine down (increases capacity by 500ml)....

i generally see 70-80C in most driving conditions
temp taken at the sump plug.

you need to be very careful about the fit of the part that connects to your oem oil cooler!!!!!
mines never given me any issues, however, ive heard of a fair few people who fit sandwich plates, which is basically the same sort of deal with that oil cooler kit, and it leaks like mad!
if it leaks to much, loss in oil pressure = bad news!

Wow you 2 have issues.

So you don't dig anything pp, fair enough, no need to talk to me like I'm a moron.
What's the big deal??

I mean really what's your problem?

This is not the first time you've had a dig for no good reason.

What have I actually done to upset you 2?

If you read my post I was giving just as good info about kits such as this as you did. Whether or not I mentioned pp, what's it matter.

In this instance the OP might of wanted to know where I got mine, in which case I would have said, but thought it was werth while mentioning what kit it was before the question arrived.

So sure, I could of put I have an oil cooler instead of I have a pp oil cooler.

but what's the big deal really?

Riiiiiiighhhht
 #-o :eye:

I may mention it every now and again but only when it's relevant.
What's the big deal writing a product name down. Everyone does it, be it apexi, sard, arc, greddy, blitz, whoever .
Why should I be justifying what I write to you 2, lol? Oh that's right, because you guys run the forum dont you,
:oldtongue: :oldtongue:

I know this is just general harmless banter guys, but you don't need to have a pop all the time.

yeh, running a oil cooler is a pain, there always seems to be the slightest of leaks, never know when a connector might decide to say good bye, lol

At the end of the day you dont need one unless your doing extreme track days.

which would be the sort of driving you wouldnt do on the roads.

I was gonna get one but i thing i'll give this a miss
