I know this is probably a question more for the insurance people themselves, but I am getting to the time of year where I want to get the 2 back on the road (I don't use it in the winter).

I have bags of no claims which I'm using on my daily driver but I understand that if I were to insure a second car, I can't use that NCD on it.

I only want the car legal to drive on the road so I can test it and drive it to track days, so obvioulsy want to spend as little as possible.

Does anyone else have the same problem?

I have a daily driver that I now gain NCB one. I'm up to 3 years (pending a crash last nov - non fault). I use my full NCB on my MR2 and go through a specialist. If you insure through the same company they can normally offer you mirrored discount on your second policy.

You can only use your NCD on 1 policy though.

another option is if you get a classic policy on your mr2, you don't use no claims on classic, then you can use no claims on a nother car, that's what i do :thumleft:

OK guys, I’m due to pick up my new forged rev 3 tbar tubby tomorrow. Decided to start ringing round for insurance…

Rough outline of the car..

Forged pistons, hks cams, hks pullys,1.8mm head gasket, arp studs, stage 2 ct20, hks intercooler, hks ssqv, hks induction kit, full body kit inc carbon bonnet, cat 1 alarms, ebc, fcd, coil overs, hks exhaust, greddy decat, cusco lsd, alloys etc etc etc

With having 7 yrs no claims, driving for 9, 6 points, garaged in a decent area…

Fully comp £791 with 350 excess

Does that sound like a good deal?? I’m not so sure. I rang Chris Knott and they wont insure it due to the mods and increased bhp

What do u think?

Who is that through? If its Sky or A-Plan then you'll be hard to beat it. If its not with them, call them and you'll probaly get it cheaper.

If Markerstudy is the insurance company then you definately wont beat it. Be worth giving A-plan a try just to be sure you've checked the 2 best ones for tuned MR2's.

I went to Admiral and got a multicar quote and it broke down like this:

£390 for the MR2 (12 months using introductory 7 yrs NCD)
£590 to add the BMW (10 months using actual 8 yrs NCD)
£30 to add the Corsa (2 Months using no NCD)

Then I imagine I'd get a huge renewal in April next year.
I think he said it worked out at the figures below based on 12 months on all cars:

£390 MR2
£680 BMW
£230 Corsa

Does anyone else use Multi car?

spooky - that is exactly the same as Sky quoted me last week. Chris Knott said they would match it though...
