[Mk2] [Turbo] Alternator problem

Post by Gordy »

My Mk2 Rev 3 Turbo alternator has gone kaput and I have no idea where to get a new one!

Where would you recommend?

Thanks.

Alright there Gordy? I remember you from days gone by!

Best bet is a post in the items wanted section, ebay, IMOC affiliates etc..

Do you have a round plug or oval plug alternator?
If you can't see the angle, you're in trouble.

ebay is your friend :thumleft: this seller is excellent:

I bought one on Friday and received it Saturday morning and it's worked very well since.

Being a rev3, chances are that you have an oval connector and need a 90A alternator but it's always worth checking if possible.

Man I wish I knew about that when I was searching for an alternator last year. :(

Hello Ollie, I ran out of time to argue so I've not posted much recently!!! Nice to know the ol' place is still ticking along nicely. Now I'm logged in I might go post a bit and try not to annoy the trusty masses.

I can't get the thing off in my driveway so it looks like it's going to be an expensive trip to the repair shop. Damn battery has gone too. Oh well, such is life.

DeusMR2; I will follow that ebay link and see what is what.

Guys thanks for the replies, I appreciate it.
