They have a mate with a Rev1, engines screwed and they've got a Rev3 to drop into it.
Is it a simple straight / swap? Or are there any differences / things to be aware of?
I had a Rev3 block put into my Rev2, but had it done by a garage and didn't actually have any involvement in it!
Rev3 engine into a Rev1?

Re: Rev3 engine into a Rev1?
At least engine, ECU, engine loom, passenger side wiring loom. That big a jump will require the dashboard loom repinning where the passenger side loom joins it. Lambda sensor is different, if the cars have aircon the aircon compressors will be different.
If swapping the gearbox as well then will need to do something about the speedo drive (easiest thing to do would be to move the mechanical drive from the rev1 gearbox onto the rev3 one).
Unless it's a very good N/A it's probably not worth doing...
