tired of standard garages - mr2 mk1 specialists in SE area?

Post by trunks_mk1 »

as the title reads...tired of taking my car to non mr2 knowledge based garages...everything seems to be very expensive as 1. they don't know the car and takes them longer to sort/fix things 2. they know its old and know it could be troublesome.

SO in saying that, I really want to take my car to somebody how owns one or has worked on a few. I don't mind if its not a business just as long as the person has one. I would rather pay an IMOC member who knows what s/he is doing then a garage.

Want to start preparing for some jobs that need doing in the summer.

Looking for garages/people close to central london/se.

Try:

www.kentcarcraft.com
3S/TGT
Kev "crazylegs" Crane (pm him, username is crazylegs)

I'm sure there are more but that's who I can think of first hand. I have personal experience of KCC and Kev Crane, both highly recommended :thumleft:

Hmmm would Pompey be too far ? My other half Limeymk1 and I own 2 mk1s between us and Chris is fantastic with the mechanical and welding side of things IMO.

If you're near essex, castle motors in hadleigh have an excellent mechanic called Terry.
Otherwise time to learn ;)

Ian Royale near Chatham is a mechanic with 24 years Toyota main dealer experience and a specialist in Mark 1's. He offers very good prices. Haven't had work done by him but he knows almost everything about these cars and runs a modified Mark 1. His number is 07932 941008.

If not there's Jinxy in North London (email [email protected]) or as mentioned, Crazylegs Kev down in Woking ...both of whom have a very good reputation and extensive knowledge of Mark 1's.

Only place I would go is www.roguemotorsport.co.uk

Coventry area - sometimes you have to travel a bit to get people you can trust (and I go from J10 of the M1!).

Second that, not used them but am taking mine to get the clutch done soon. Heard nothing but good things about them and we're a nice bunch when I went down with toxo.
