ah now his s a hard one, ive played an awful lot of games, once had a bit of an addiction to it.

in third place i think would have to be

"carmageddon" released in 1997.

the first violent car based game to include

"running people over" at the time it was seen as very contraversial and banned or cencored in many contries.

The main uk release used zombies instead of people to avoid the taboo issue of running people over, however the expansion

"splat pack" was allowed a short time after which included updates for the game including new vehicals, tracks and replacement pedestrians so you could now run people down.

.instead of the green splatting zombies.

i actually prefur

"carmagedon tdr2000" as it is graphically superior but essentialy the same game except now with damage and larger levels.

but as carmageddon lead the way it has to be in third place

second place would have to be

"halflife" released in 1998, it truly was an epic when it was released, a great story line, great fluidity and challenging enough to keep you entertained.

but in first place, the best game for me has to be

"need for speed 2 SE" reeased in 1997

back before the whole

'fast and furious' themed releases of the early 2000's including

"underground",

"underground 2" and

"carbon" which took the franchise down a dark and mass populated avenue.

Back before then it was about the cars included, the driving and the sound.

plus you could drive as any of the road side items that you could crash into, theres nothing quite like racing an f50 in a porta-loo!

haha ive just realised those three were from the same point in my life, i must have been 12/13 and playing far far too many games, no wonder im an IT technician now!
