1995 MR2 GT Turbo (Rev 3) tin top

Post by The TVIS Kid »

For sale is my 1995 MR2 GT Turbo (Rev 3) tin top.

87K miles with full stamped service history and a load of other invoices and receipts. I bought the car with 79K on the clock when it had a service at Rogue Motorsports (oil, filter, plugs, dizzy cap, rotor arm) and then I have changed the oil again at 84K. The car has an MOT until June and 5 months tax remaining. Being the GT spec the car has the optional extras such as steering fog lights, electric folding mirrors, leather and alcantara seats as well as the standard electric windows, mirrors and climate control.

Modifications are: Apexi induction kit
ARC intercooler
HKS BOV
MBC
Rogue Decat
Blueflame exhaust

Interior – Half leather and alcantera seats are in good condition with only a small amount of ware on the drivers right bolster.
Man in Dandism Mats
CD Player
Air Bag
Electronic boost gauge
The car has 160mph clocks fitted that read in miles.
Cat 2 Immobiliser fitted

Exterior – All standard and in good condition bar a few stone chips/small marks here and there. The only problem is the bonnet is a slightly different shad of grey (can't notice in the pics) but this should be remedied before the car sells as I have another to go on, just needs a polish.

Engine – Uses no oil and no water. The turbo was replaced at some point in the cars past, this was not that long ago (not sure of exact date) and it has no play at all in the shaft. Cambelt was changed a 60K. It is normally run on V power with the occasional use of tesco 99. I have never had any problems with the engine and it runs very well. In June I replaced the rear discs and pads and cleaned up the callipers and then last month I replaced the front discs and pads.

Problems – only ones I can think is the Ariel has stopped going up and down, small mark on bumper as pictured and air con does not blow that cold.

The car is up for £2950ovno. I might consider a swap for a MR2 mk1 or MX5 upto about half the value of my car.

Car is based in Solihull, South Birmingham

This is now on an ebay classified ad for £2900.

This seems to be the cheapest rev 3 trubo about, is that putting people off? It's a very clean car with good service history.

I guess its just the time of year.

If you had posted this ad at end of jan (when i my budget will be in place) i would be litteraly ripping your arm off right now.

Saw it advertised elsewhere and it jumped out at me as a superb car

Only if they leak, neither of mine did and I never got a wet back side through a leaky Tbar in 3 years on either of my 2 t bars :D
Its a shame i dont have any spare money at the mo and you have picked a good time to do a partx on an mx5 due to there low value at the :(

Best of luck witgh the sale as she is a clean looking car :thumleft:

I bought my last one specifically because it was tin-top. Had leaky cars before and it's no fun at all. Do find that most potential buyers don't think like that in my experience.
