Oh man, I'm glad you started this thread by accident! These mk1's are sexual!!! I like the mk1 look anyway, but these make them look the mutts nuts! Damn I want one now.
Might look for a set of bolt ons for my mk2.
Do the same z arches fit a mk2?

Re: Datsun Flares
FYI guys
anyone thats interested in getting these bolt on arches
there are 2 guys on Retro Rides that are selling them for
£65 for a set of 4!
Universal fitment, but basically the same as the Z arches.
Equally if you want something wider and slightly chunkier look at the CBY arches for the AE86
again you can pick copies of these up for very little.

AW11, slammed to the weeds, with bolt on arches, wide wheels with a serious negative offset and no spoiler looks awesome!

I'm not generally a fan of cosmetic changes to cars, but these arches are absolutely superb!! I'd definitely put these on my Mk1, although I'd probably smooth them over rather than have the bolt's showing.

Excellent work!!!

mr2 mk1 flares
Hi, I had a question about rubbing issues.
I just installed 15x8
0-offset on my MR2 MK1.
The rear is rubbing on the fender and I was wondering if a fender roll could do the job not to roll, or would I not spend the money and time and go for fender flares?
I live the bolt on look.

Re: Datsun Flares
It would be great if the Datsun flares actually fit a Mk1, but they don't, it takes a fair bit of modification to get them looking like that black Mk1.

I put the last 5 weeks into my own version, which is a much wider set of bolt ons, these fit mm perfectly onto the car with no gaps.

This is the one and only set i've made, but these will be moulded during the winter and will be available from Zombie wings in both FG and carbon fibre in the new year.

Re: Datsun Flares
Guessing these won't fit cars without sideskirts, any chance they'll be available too?

Re: Datsun Flares
No sorry i could only cater for one model only, given that 99% of all Mk1s have sideskirts it just wasn't worth my effort to make them fit non skirted cars.
So you would need to add skirts to make these fit properly.

Re: Datsun Flares
On the norwegian silver mk1 does anyone have any idea who made the front spoiler and the rear under bumper apron?

The fender flares wont solve the issue of rubbing as the original arch and lip will still be there

Roll the top of the steel arch, and then fit the fender flare

Roll the arch and leave it like that.

Cut away some of the steel arch to offer more clearance and then fit the fender flare.

The general approach in Corolla circles is to cut away the steel arch and then fit the fender flare

Its difficult to say without seeing what the wheels look like on the car.

The JDM style bolt on arch flares will obviously require some work to fit.

Re: Datsun Flares
Paul,

Any update on how much those arches will be

Price still to be finalized mate, the full carbon fibre versions will obviously be dearer than the FG ones, as soon as Zombie wings have taken a mould from them and produce the first set i will know the final price and i will update here.

ZombieWood flares
I am also interested in these.

Do you cut back the arches when you fit them Paul?
(would be excellent for getting rid of my slightly crusty patches)

Re: Datsun Flares
Yes on the rear i just trimmed the outer lip off by about 20mm and then bonded that edge to the inner arch to make it water tight.
On the front i removed about 30mm of arch but left 5 or 6 tabs of arch and folded them inboard to act as new arch liner mounts, pretty easy.
