For sale i have my mk1.5 mr2 (AKA Penelope)

P's been in family since we brought it from the first owner after a recommendation from a Friend way back in about 2001.

when I purchased the car it was completely standard apart from a very Small amount rust around the rear arches !

Over the years there has been copious amounts of work carried out on the car, including:

Body work:

  • full respray in Fiat chinquento metallic pink (standard Fiat colour)

  • replacement of the rear arches

  • fibre glass front wings

  • engine bay sprayed to body colour during engine conversion

  • brand new font bumper,as new seconded hand bumper beam

  • brand new font panels

  • custom one off vented vented bonnet fitted (still have original)

  • spoiler removed from rear boot lid (also have a one which is
vented with a mk1 side vent for when we had an intercooler in the boot)

  • windscreen removed and checked for rust around windscreen area whilst having roof sprayed black

[/b]

I also have a set of colour coded rear lights and centre panel, but I prefer the look the the car with the lights black.

few pics from over the years;

Engine:

a professional engine transplant from an mk2 mr2 turbo carried out by Paul woods at Woodsport(one of the 1st to be done for the public ) :

I think after buying the donor car and paying for the conversion and all necessary parts this came to a cost of around £3-3.5K

when I originally contacted Paul I was adamant that I wanted a revision 3 conversion,I was wiling wait as long as I took to get the right car.

But an accident damaged revision 2 came up for sale, that only 1 month prior to being crashed into a tree had a lot of money spent on it ,Including a guaranteed low millage engine imported from japan.I still have all the receipts from this and Japanese service history from the Donor. I still have the original engine(not included in sale) !

I don't think the car has covered much more than 3-4K miles since the engine conversion

Current engine specification:

  • Mk2 turbo Rev1 3S-GTE engine swap
  • Upgraded walbro in tank fuel pump
  • Modified HKS super dragger exhaust and DE-cat
  • HKS air filter
  • HKS FCD
  • HKS BOV
  • Celica gt4 st205 charge cooler
  • Uprated actuator set at 14psi

Other upgrades:

Since having the turbo engine fitted the car has been completely upgraded to complement the power it's current specification is:

  • Front Brakes:Celica gt4 st205 brake conversion including callipers and disc's TRD pads 3mm larger supra studs and 3mm spacers

  • rear Brakes:MR2 SW20 rev 3 callipers and vented disc's
  • Koni adjustable shocks and fensport uprated springs

  • Polly bushes fitted all round

  • larger Adjustable White line front and rear adjustable anti roll bars

  • two's R us adjustable drop-links front and rear

  • adjustable rear tie bars

  • 17inch Kosei wheels with 215/45/17 tyres rear and 205's front.

The car used to have bucket seats and a roll cage but these where not very friendly for use as a road car so original mk1 seats have been re-fitted and the roll cage removed.

Interior does benefit from;

  • boost gauge
  • cussco short shift
  • Sony mp3 player with remote control(always useful in a 2 seater sports car!)
  • upgraded kenwood speakers.

Featured in April 2008 Japanese performance magazine:

Also featured in the excellent MR2 only magazine for a trip to the nurburgring in 2007 and for a day spent at Shakespeare county raceway.

Needless to say this is a very high performance car and controversially ran a flat 12 second quarter mile at Santa pod and also a more realistic 12.65 second quarter mile ( this was with nitrous fitted. The nitrous system was never used on the road and only at 3 events at Santa pod and 1 at Shakespeare county raceway)

I've maintained the car myself, with the help and assistance of Josh from Neils auto's in Wolverhampton. Plus I can't forget all the guys at twobrutal ::wave:: always maintaining a high standard and ensuring it's regularly serviced. Ive always kept mechanics and body work in outstanding condition.

I,ve tried to explain as much as possible but feel I've already gone on to much ! But if you have any question or comments please feel free to post them up

The car will come with months MOT and and some fresh Mobil 1 ;)

I'm looking for £4999ono

cheers
