Haven't done it myself but I believe it is an N12 cherry or a 340 volvo is also a good fit.

I have to do this too so I'll let you do it first and learn from your mistakes

Have you got anywhere with this yet?

I'm going to do mine but I need help. The arch is only rusted about 6inches in the middle and it is the bottom 'folding inwards lip' and perhaps 1inch into the arch itself.

Where would anyone recommend that I cut it out to? Still on the 'flat' part of the arch or above that (after the join with the body). And do I just cut the 6inch where the rust is and try to join it or do I take most of the arch?

Best to give us some piccies to look at dude, I have some progress pics of my partner working on my rear arch - I'll put them up for you when I get back from work. :thumleft:

These are my pics, the rust had got a lot further than we had expected so the whole arch has been replaced. :)

We started to take off paint at the bottom of the arch as it was the outer sill that needed welding, took the grinder to it to find about half an inch of filler that I wasn't aware of

Then found that repairs had already been done (badly) so the whole lot had to be taken back to good metal. I sneezed for a week after this. 8-[

Still going with the grinder..

This was how far we had to take it back to get good metal...it looked awful
:( All the inner arch had to be cut away too and we replaced it with fiberglass.

New sill return in...

New arch lip in...

And all done apart from a skim of filler and paint....

Huge thanks has to go to my partner Limeymk1 for the repairs, it was the first time he'd attempted something like this and he did a top job. 8)
You probably wont have to go to that extreme but I hope the piccies help

 Cheers hun.

The JDG panels aren't a bad fit, but do need some adjustment round the sill returns and bumper to fit properly.

Thanks for the pics. Gives me a good idea of what to do.

Do you have a pic of the finished (painted) arch? I'm interested in where the arch meets the channel on each side. Is it just a case of good filling to get it right...

It's been raining here for a couple of days so when it stops I shall get some pics of my arch and add them..

I dont at the mo as mine isn't quite finished, The channel is going to need a bit of work on mine still as a wee part of the welding carried on into them. They will have the welds ground back so it's back to its original shape and filled as needed. :thumleft:

i have used the ebay ones and found the arch to be a good fit. the real sill quarter was not a good fit however and needed some work. quality was fine just thick enough to be worth it but just thin enough to manipulate.

I bought that whole set from littlebird on ebay and they were great.
I had a dude do all the work but I watched him do alot of it and he said they where well made and worth the money.
He should know, he owns a business where he concentrates on rebuilding vintage Porches that have panels that are no longer avalible and so he has to make everything by hand.
Now thats a good recommendation.
He cut out the old stuff and fitted the new stuff and painted for £1200.
