My New Rev2 Turbo

Post by notroubleclubber »

Finally got back in the world of Jap and decided to get myself an MR2. A few years ago i had a rev1 n/a and stuck a bomex front bumper and veilside skirts and rear bumper on.I loved it but just wasnt quick enough so swapped it for a Rover coupe turbo running 250bhp.That was quick enough but an offer came up to swap for a 1 owner escort rs turbo.I swapped but it turned out to be rotten so i swapped what i could inc.the engine to a cabriolet shell. Then this rev2 turbo came up so i swapped my cab turbo and £500 for this.I think i got a right bargain!!

OK, heres the pics:

1st ones are the ones off ebay when i got it.

I cant believe we managed to drive it 150miles home without getting pulled for those number plates!! We even pulled up behind a cop car and over took it and still they never pulled us!!!

Anyway, ive since got rid of the horrible silver turbo stickers down the side bottom of doors and also ive pulled off the silver twin cam stickers on the bump strips as the previous owner didnt even put them on straight. Heres how it looks now:

Once the money is better im hoping to go black 17s and maybe some sort of grafix down the side?!

Its currently gfot a HKS Dump valve (Bit quiet but i like it)
Departure twin exhaust (Lovely)
HKS Air Filter
and thats about it.

Im looking to fit some black 17s, boost gauge and run about 1.1bar. Also to give it a service, cambelt and make sure all is running nicely.
Then i might think of getting it resprayed and fitting a nice bodykit............we will see!

Ive done a few things to it and as of yet not polished it but changed the departure as it was rotten for a custom made jobbie i got off someone on the forums and also replaced the lights for rev3.Also got some 17s for it too.
