due to insurance purposes I need a cat 1 alarm fitted, now i've got one on the way from a nice chap on here. However I need it to be fitted by a fitter who can give me a certificate, does anyone know a good place to get this done in London/SE?
Also is this possible with a used alarm as long as it works?
Would rather have someone mr2 savvy do this but it seems I need the cert for insurance sooo.
not done it myself ive heard for £20 ish some companys can give you a certificate to prove instalation and insurance companys except this dont know how true this is, maybe ask ollie he might explain.
she's all comming together nicely now after a fair bit of cash spent, not bad for just an n/a now for some body kit i think.

I think this is the case with some insurance companies but it's at their own discretion. The previous owner of my car didn't have the insurance certificate for the immobiliser. He took it to a local garage who confirmed it was a cat 2 and used that as a certificate. Some companies don't even ask to prove. I guess most cars like this have to have at least a cat 2 to get insured in the first plce.
Actually, change of question does anyone know of a good installer for cat1 alarms in London NE and surrounding area, herts/essex also if its not too far from london.

There is a decent one near me but they only do cobra and clifford, if my car was worth more i'd buy a clifford but its not.
i had a cobra for sale and was willing to send full fitting instructions in the price, plus photos, all that was needed then would be to drive into a local alarm centre and pay around £10 for the certificate(phoned them up saying i had lost the certificate and the insurance company were asking for one(little white lie )) but certificates get lost all the time so it would be unfair for this loop hole to be non-existing, especially with the millions of cars being passed on yearly
