modifying the side vents

Post by jasongtr »

i was going to put toms style skirts on the car - but the quality of them suck tbh, what i liked about the was the big open vent, can the std ones be easily modified with cracking them when you refit them onto the car, maybe some mesh behind them aswell

also can you get skirts that are subtle and more an extension to the sill tomake the car look lower without being too over the top

cheers

and added these skirts too i dont know the make though but they do look like they are for something else as there is a repair line on both skirts on the inside. So it can be done :thumleft:

remove the vent
cut the bits out you dont like
repaire with fibre glass sheet and resin
maybe some p45 on top so its easier to sand
sand to the design you want
smooth down with wet and dry
paint them. ( i sent them to a bodyshop at this point cos im rubbish at spraying )

refit and hey presto.

one of the first mods i did.

Hi mate, just did the single side vent mod with vent extention.
I didn't go for any side skirts as i like the clean look.

Hi Mate,
I modded the side vents myself.
It's not what i would call difficult, but if you want a tidy job? it's not something that can be done in a couple of hours.
Luckily, i took plenty of photos, if your interested i may try to make this in to a HOW-TO ?

sure any guide from someone whos done it will be useful, i should be able to get through it but it may have some useful advice for me and others on here, and like you say its not hard - maybe it will inspire others to have a go themselves

cheers
