I've ran a Blitz and a Sard d/v, the way i know how to set them up is:

with the car running at tickover, wind out the tensioner grub screw untill you can feel air escaping onto your hand,

when you reach this point wind the tensioner screw back in untill it just stops leaking,

this is the optimum setting ( i.e no leak at idle)

Nick I was told and have found the best method is to run the car at your full boost setting; set up the spring so that you get a full blow off sound only on full boost. So part throttle and low boost it will flutter a little.

This way it's a very tight seal so won't leak boost, and it will only realise when you have huge volumes of air in the system, ie at your max full boost.

Works good on mine.
Tho I have to say, no bov at all sounds much better and is quicker for shifting. Tho not many would recommend no bov.

Suprised you arnt running a larger bov with that setup. I got the type R for the very reason is it will expell more volume. Looks great to and is HUGE!

think its mainly to do with the volume of air dude it can release. you could find that bov may not expell 1.7-2bar werth of air when you run high boost with a huge turbo.
(i heard type S is only rated to like 1.2-1.4bar)
so it may only expell some of it, and surge the rest.

think the type S is like 25-30mm onto the bov, with maybe 30mm outlet.

my type S is around 48mm in, and 50mm out.......

comparison in size.

still, see how you do. i used to have a type S, loved the sound of em.

how many people connect the lower pipe as mine is not connected & have heard is not used if running high boost pressures ,as its only there for quick response & if connected will creep open on high boost levels ??
