Black rev2 t-bar turbo

Post by mrfil13 »

For sale

K Reg Black MR2 T-bar G-limited Rev2 with Rev2 turbo engine conversion.

12 month MOT and taxed until the end of April.

The car has 135k on the clock, as far as I know a lot of that is KM from when it was imported from Japan in 1998 and pretty much most of the car has been replaced since.

The engine conversion was done at 120k by Luke aka skywalker and the engine has now done 57k miles. When I bought the engine a compression test was done on it and showed 180psi across all 4 cylinders, just before Christmas I had it done again by skywalker and again it still showed 180psi right across. The turbo is never used until the oil is up to temp and the car is left to idle before switching it off.

The Mods – details.

16” alloys which were professionally repainted nearly 3 years ago just after I bought the car.
Koni adjustable shocks.
Aftermarket clutch which has done 15k.
Departure 2 regular exhaust, the flexi section of the exhaust was replaced with SS flexi, the rest of the exhaust was welded up and painted in high temp silver.
Decated.
Blitz induction kit.
Border rear spats.
Nardi steering wheel.
The rear disks and pads were replaced about 2k ago.
Manual boost controller set to 14psi.
Boost gauge.
Oil Temp gauge.
Cat1 Alarm.
£500+ of audio, this consists of a JBL 75.4 500watt RMS amp, 6.5” Alpine components, a 10” Rockford Fosgate sub and sound deadening behind the Alpines.
Radiator replaced when the engine was done also with Toyota red for life coolant.
Heater hoses from hell were bypassed due to them leaking.
The driver’s side sill was replaced for the MOT.
+ other bits I’ve probably forgotten about.

The bad bits.

Unfortunately these cars are never perfect so here’s a list of a few things.

The front Anti roll bars are knocking despite only replacing all 4 a year ago.

The bushes could do with replacing at some point, this maybe reduced the front ARBs lifespan. Replacing the bushes will make a nice difference on the handling though, its just something I never got around to.

The aircon does not work, I replaced the front aircon radiator as that was leaking but then found another leak, every time it gets warm enough to want to fix it it gets cool again (or I stop been lazy and take the T-bars off).

The main and last ‘bad bit’, nearly two and half years ago I had an accident in the car which the insurance class as a CAT C write off, I bought the car back from them and used the money from the claim to repair the damage. The damage was superficial but meant I had to replace the 2 front wings and doors. In all the wings, doors, bonnet and roof was resprayed, the windscreen was also replaced. The paintwork was in fantastic condition and still is now.

The car is currently in Whitby North Yorkshire as i took it up there for the welding, i will be bringing the car back down to North London where i live at the beginning of April (presuming i don't sell it first)

I'm looking for £2500 for the car, to me the car is worth so much more but due to the Cat C class i think its a far price.

If you have any questions etc let me know.

Thanks
