Sky Insurance - Thumbs Up! (please read the edit as I was wrong)

Post by Tiamat »

My original post is below detailing what I thought had happened - turns out I was wrong.

Got a call from Ollie this morning (talking at about 100 mph) and he has sorted this for me.

Documents never arrived with Sky Insurance so they simply followed the correct procedure, not realising they had already been sent.

Ollie is sorting the no claims dicount confirmation direct from my old insurance company and the documents are coming to me via e-mail so this can all be resolved.

Insurance on my bike will be going ahead so all is great :thumleft:

Apologies to Sky for the negative feedback when it was a misunderstanding, I was (at the time I felt rightly) very annoyed.

Also top marks to Ollie for sorting this out :thumleft:

Sky have sorted this out properly and really well and I am 110% impressed with the customer service on this and will be back to them for the insurance on my Pug in due course.

Note to all - got a problem with Sky let Ollie know and he will sort it.

Original Post

I am disappointed to write this after they had done a good deal on my MR2 insurance, but this concerns my bike insurance.

Bike insurance was running out and I got a call from sKy Insurance, seeing if I wanted to tranfer to them, they offered me a better deal than my current insurer and knock a further £30.00 of it if I took it out that day!

Lets just say it dropped to a ridiculously low price so I took the deal.

Paperwork was sent and for whatever reason not received, on receiving a chaser letter I phones Sky and told them and they sent out the paperwork. I later got a reminder that I had not sent the paperowrk back, since I had been busy with work this was right.

I completed the paperwork, copied my licence, enclosed the original documentation showing my no claims discount and sent it off.

Suddenly over 2 weeks later, with no further contact I get a letter telling my insurance is cancelled, no warning and no reason given, except that is in accordance with some part of the road legislation.

Suddenly I now cannot take my bike for its MOT and am left trying to find another insurer, which will cost me more and furthermore I am now going to have to wait to get my original no claims information back from Sky to provide to the other insurer.

A bad experience and I am deeply unhappy, they had been very good with my car insurance and i am disappopinted with this.
