Wheel stud removal

Post by jim-mapps »

Any advice for removing wheel studs? I understood the best way was to remove the caliper and knock them out with a big hammer?

Problem is one of my caliper bolts (bottom one) is rounded off and the big bolts that hold the caliper surround on both sides are solid. Infact they're closer again to rounding off than coming free.

Any ideas for either removing studs without removing the caliper or removing these deaded bolts?

Ta very much y'all :thumleft:

you have to remove the caliper. Best bet is get a slightly smaller socket, hammer it over the bolt and then pray it all comes off. But I'm sure others will come up with better solutions - I just break things when I work on my car :(
