Glass and Bottle Policy

Post by LimeyMk1 »

Pretty much the same as last year:

After the success last year we have decided to retain the policy on not allowing glass on to the site. Glass when broken is a menace and at a site where there are lots of children using the facilities both at our show and at other weekends means we cannot afford to allow glass on to site. In addition tyres aren't cheap and glass is prone to eating them as well !

Whilst we accept this may be inconvenient for some people we hope you understand the reasons why we are doing this and accept it is for very good reason. To confirm, drinking glasses wont be allowed nor will beer bottles and wine bottles. However spirit bottles will be allowed but these must be disposed of aproporiately. In addition no spirit bottles may left laying around on any club stand.

Fixed it for you, answer is still NO!
I asked God for a bike, but I know God doesn't work that way. So I stole a bike and asked for forgiveness.

They may have a check through your boot at the gate and any beer/wine bottles will be binned. I guess the reason for allowing spirit bottles is that you're unlikely to turn up with a case of 24 bottles.

Personally I would rather run over a can than a beer bottle. :oldtongue: The rule was in place at Mersea and it worked pretty well, I think there were fewer punctures as well.

At Mersea they checked and removed stuff at the gate, its labelled up and you can collect it when you leave, they have no right to confiscate it, just to refuse you entry if you "carrying". Its not a major issue to be honest, just buy beer in cans.

Makes sense wine vs spirit bottle(s)

no big deal, you can still buy those massive boxes of dodgy wine anyway (if youve got a woman with you and she doesnt handle lager/vodka too well!)

That is why one does not purchase "Box Wine" =;

Looks like I'll just be sticking with the Wray & Nephew and a few cans of Coke.

Jokes aside by the way... A Friend of mine has just started part-timing for a Fine Wine Importer, news is that Top Vineyards are seriously considering TetraPak for Vintages - to save the Breakage they suffer transporting Bottles.

Sheesh - Bring back the screw top!

I was researching non bottled wine in the supermarket last night, and discovered they even do it in those squeezy pouches, like Lucozade Sport. I declined however as I'd tip the whole lot down my neck in one go! Cans of cider for me then!!

Thats the problem with wine, at least for me, I drink it like beer, I think I'll actually stick to beers though this time.
