[Mk2] [Turbo] HELP!! Car wont run!
Having a bit of a nightmare with my turbo rev 2. Drove it around time, all was well. Gave it some beans here and there but nothing too OTT. Stopped a few times after various mates and all sopped and started fine, Im about 500 yards from home and come down the ramp and I just lose power. No lights th...

Will fit and take a pic soon, though I'm not sure how much difference a pic will make

Daisy chain won't be a problem. Just use decent cable - not speaker wire!

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Rev 3 metal head gasket on a rev2 - NOW WITH PHOTOS!
I agree. It states on many Mr2 forums that the rev 3 hg is stronger than a rev 2.
Its recommended to a rev 3 hg to allow more boost.
I was looking at ways to spot a fitted rev3 gasket as I have no history with my turbo and wanted to know if it was done without removing the head.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Engine not running when hot
Probably not related but I had the same problem with an xr2. Turns out there was a blockage in the vent to fuel tank due to a different fuel cap I used. I found it used to do the same, but when it done it I unscrewed the fuel cap and loads of air came out and then it ran ok. I ended up using a plast...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] small oil leak
I can only see it on the top of the exhaust bend so maybe cam cover. I understand its quite easy to change? I may do this and give the pipework and cam cover a good coat of paint when I fit my stock bov back on when it arrives. What sort of job is the cam cover gasket and also how much and what part...

[Mk2] [Turbo] small oil leak
I've always had a small oil leak since I bought my Rev 2 turbo. It was never much so didn't worry too much about it. I've since done an oil change with a genuine filter but I still lose the same amount. I have been on holiday and left the car for a week and I've come to take it for a run so checked ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] engine problem
Lesson to be learned..... always check the obvious - no fuel!
Put a cans worth in and its fired straight up and revving fine!
No fuel low light though so that needs investigating. Also the indicator wasn't that low so I'm guessing it was adjusted wrong when the white dials was fitted.
Thanks guys.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] engine problem
Its been stood in a dry garage and it was only slightly drizzly when I got it out the garage for the 2 min before it started doing it. How can I check the afm is working properly? It just seems strange how it started and reversed out fine then left it running for 5 min while I moved the other car an...

[Mk2] [Turbo] knocking noise from front
Hi. I have a knocking noise on my rev 2 turbo. It happens when going over bumps and when stationary if I bounce the front passenger side. It is lowered but I've had a quick look and can't tell how. I've heard drop links are a common and problem so if this is a case is it an easy job? Thanks in advance

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] too much oil?
Quick update.
Still a bit of a mess on floor (not much more than before) but it seems the dipstick is now showing just under full.
I'm sure it must be leaking on to the alternator belt as I get the squeaky noise when first starting.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] too much oil?
Sorry. I don't think I made it clear. I checked the level carefully while filling and stopped at full on the dipstick. I had used 3.9l of new oil. I just didn't know where this extra oil was from. I also noticed that the oil on the floor was old oil, not new but it definitely came from the car after...

[Mk2] [Turbo] too much oil?
I've carried out a much needed oil change on my rev 2 turbo yesterday. First I drained it from the sump plug which filled the washing up bowl by about 3/4. I then removed the old filter (unscrewed by hand), put a dab of old oil on the new genuine filter and screwed in by hand as hard as I could then...
